Queensrÿche – Tribe (2003)

Released on July 22, 2003, Tribe was a reflective and collaborative effort that reunited Queensrÿche with founding guitarist Chris DeGarmo—though only briefly. DeGarmo contributed guitar work and songwriting to several tracks, offering a nostalgic spark amidst a modernized sound. The album blended alternative rock textures with introspective lyrics focused on disconnection, unity, and personal struggle, signaling a thematic return to the band’s more cerebral side.

Tribe carries a subdued, contemplative tone—less about arena anthems and more about inner landscapes, marking a mature, if underappreciated, entry in the Queensrÿche discography.

Band Lineup:

  • Geoff Tate – Vocals, keyboards

  • Michael Wilton – Guitar

  • Eddie Jackson – Bass, backing vocals

  • Scott Rockenfield – Drums, percussion

  • Chris DeGarmo – Guest guitar, songwriting (on select tracks)

Track List:

  1. Open

  2. Losing Myself

  3. Desert Dance

  4. Falling Behind

  5. Great Divide

  6. Rhythm of Hope

  7. Tribe

  8. Blood

  9. The Art of Life

  10. Doin' Fine

While not a commercial smash, Tribe stands as a heartfelt and atmospheric release—highlighted by flashes of classic Queensrÿche introspection and a brief, bittersweet reunion with the spirit of their early years.
