Surreal desert scene with glass jars, ears, and the text QUEENSRŸCHE.

Queensrÿche – Hear in the Now Frontier (1997)

Released on March 25, 1997, the 1997 album *Hear in the Now Frontier* marked a bold shift in sound for Queensrÿche. Departing from the progressive and conceptual styles that defined their earlier albums, the band embraced a stripped-down, grunge-influenced approach, reflecting the musical landscape of the late '90s. With raw guitars, simpler arrangements, and introspective lyrics, this album revealed a more grounded and human side of Queensrÿche.

While the shift divided fans and critics, *Hear in the Now Frontier* showcased Queensrÿche’s willingness to evolve and explore new territory, even at the risk of alienating their established audience.

Band Lineup:

Geoff Tate – Vocals, keyboards

Chris DeGarmo – Guitar, piano, backing vocals

Michael Wilton – Guitar

Eddie Jackson – Bass, backing vocals

Scott Rockenfield – Drums

(Note: This would be Chris DeGarmo's final studio album with the band before his departure.)
